SACRAMENTO, CA — The Santa Rosa Junior College women's beach volleyball team earned a split in Big 8 Conference play, falling to Cosumnes River College before bouncing back in dominant fashion with a 5-0 sweep over Sacramento City College.
Against Cosumnes River College, the Bear Cubs were tested across the lineup, ultimately dropping the team match 4-1. SRJC's lone point came from the No. 4 pair of Melendez/Krohn, who secured a composed straight-set win, 21-17, 21-15. The No. 3 duo of Brooner/Walker pushed their match to three sets, showing grit and competitiveness, while Smart/Amand nearly extended their match to a third set in a tight 23-21 second set.

The Bear Cubs responded emphatically in their second match of the day, sweeping Sacramento City College 5-0. SRJC controlled every court, demonstrating improved execution and confidence across all pairs.
At the top spot, Davis/Comma led the way with a decisive 21-6 first set before closing out the match 21-19. Smart/Amand and Brooner/Walker each earned straight-set victories in tightly contested second sets, showing poise in key moments. Melendez/Krohn continued their strong play with another dominant win, while McIninch/Seidler secured the fifth point via forfeit.
