The Bear Cub women's team finished just outside the top 5, taking 6th overall at the 3C2A State Championships this spring after putting together a high performance season all year.
At the Big 8 Conference Championships the Cubs were led by sophomores Maia Chase CHAMPION in 1-Meter Diving; Victoria Creaves taking three top 3 finishes including 2nd in the 50 Free (24.82), 2nd in the 100 Fly (59.01), and 3rd in the 100 Free (53.55); Addison Klosevitz taking three top 8 finishes in the 500 Free, 400 IM, and the 1650 Free; Rose Williams also with three top 8 finishes in the 500 Free, 100 Back, and 200 Back; and Hannah Hoffman with three top 8 finishes in the 400 IM and both breast events. Freshman standout, Natascha Deadman also finished in the top 8 in both breast events as well.
At the 3C2A State Championship Meet, hosted by SRJC, sophomore Madeleine West had and incredible performance taking the silver in the 100 Breast (1:04.83) and bronze medals in both the 200 Breast (2:25.67) and the 100 IM (1:00.11) ranking her as an All American athelte in all three events. Other top 8 State Finishers included Creaves who took 6th in the 50 Free (24.43), 5th in the 100 Fly (58.93), and 8th in the 100 Free (54.33); Natascha Deadman taking 6th and 7th in the 200 and 100 Breasts respectively; Williams taking 8th in the 100 Back; and Chase taking 4th on the 1M board.
The Cubs also came up with big results in the realys at the State Championship as well including:
- 4th, 200 Free Relay: Creaves, West, Williams, Klosevitz - 1:39.30
- 4th, 400 Medley: Williams, West, Creaves, Klosevitz - 4:02.88
- 4th, 200 Medley: Williams, West, Creaves, Klosevitz - 1:50.12,
- 15th, 800 Free: Williams, Deadman, Hoffman, Barker - 8:39.08 and
- 12th, 400 Free Relay: Creaves, West, Williams, Klosevitz - 3:45.89
