On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving the Bear Cubs (4-2) hosted the Gladiators (1-5) of Hayward's Chabot College. Abby Tacla scored the first field goal of the contest on a drive from the left wing on the Bear Cubs' initial shot attempt. They went on to make six out of 10 shots—Jordan Washington's 2-footer on a baseline inbounds pass form Elle Picard, Picard's layup on a give-and-go play with Kaia Eubanks, Washington's 1-footer on a baseline inbounds pass from Hailey Webb, Eubanks' 4-foot low post spin move, Eubanks' fast break layup, and Washington's layup—for a 19-0 lead. Defensively, the Bear Cubs held the Gladiators scoreless until Talailelagi Wily's putback with 1:37 on the clock. Madyson Carson swished a 3-pointer thirteen seconds later to complete the scoring with the Bear Cubs in front 22-2.
The Bear Cubs started the second quarter with a 10-0 run on a 3-pointer each by Elle Picard and Madyson Carson, and two baskets in a row by Sydney Martin. Jasmine Bertucci was successful on two consecutive drives past defenders on the right side of the lane. Caitlin Baldwin drained a 3-pointer, and the next time down Hailey Webb made a back cut and banked in the layup off of Kaia Eubanks' assist from the high post for a 37-6 advantage at the 4:48 mark. Over a minute later Eubanks intercepted a pass near the Gladiators' free throw line and dribbled the rest of the way to score the layup. Bertucci swished a 3-pointer with 3:15 on the clock. Jordan Washington hit a 14-footer on a baseline inbounds pass from Anabel Arcilla with 2:12 left. Sydney Muther drew a shooting foul twenty-one seconds later and made both free throws. Shasta Vlasak's 3-pointer gave the Bear Cubs a 44-11 lead going into halftime.
Jordan Washington added the first four points of the third quarter on nearly full court layups—the first after pulling down a defensive rebound and dribbling the length of the court, and the second after making a steal below the Gladiators' free throw line and again driving down the court to bank in the layup. Talailelagi Wily got open near the hoop and made the shot over defenders at the 7:59 mark. Washington sank a 16-footer and then a 2-footer off of Kaia Eubanks' pass. Shasta Vlasak scored on a drive, and Sydney Martin hit a 14-footer before Savannah Montini's putback with 4:16 on the clock. Madyson Carson sank a 10-footer, and then Nyla MaCoy swished a 3-pointer. With 2:42 left, Hailey Webb turned a steal into two points. Sydney Muther scored the Gladiators' final field goal of the quarter with 1:20 remaining. Martin drew a shooting foul and made both free throws to put the Bear Cubs' advantage at 62-20 by the end of the quarter.
The Gladiators scored the first two points of the fourth quarter on a pair of free throws by Savannah Montini. Nearly a minute later, Jordan Washington dropped in a 15-footer. Seventy-one seconds after that, Elle Picard converted a 3-point play on a back cut and assist from Washington. During the next sixty-two seconds Montini made a field goal, Kaia Eubanks was successful on a low post move, Jasmine Bertucci drained a 3-pointer, and Eubanks drove around defenders to bank in a layup. The Bear Cubs scored nine unanswered points on Eubanks' putback, Hattie Piper's 3-pointer, Bennett Gaylord's 2-footer off a pass from Amanda Hart, and Piper's steal and layup to widen their lead to 80-27 with 1:09 on the clock. The Gladiators tallied the final six points of the contest on Bertucci's 3-pointer and Talailelagi Wily's 3-point play. The Bear Cubs dribbled out the clock on their 80-33 victory.
The Bear Cubs' defense was too tough for the Gladiators to get open looks at the hoop. The Bear Cubs came up with 18 steals and passed for 18 assists. They made 33 out of 65 shots (51%), while holding the Gladiators to 12 out of 64 (19%). Jasmine Bertucci was the only Gladiators to reach double figures, as she totaled 13 points.
