Santa Rosa Junior College is proud to announce that standout pitcher Luke Schat has been named the 2025 ABCA/Rawlings National Pitcher of the Year, recognizing him as the top pitcher in the country in the Pacific Association Division.
A sophomore from Ukiah, CA, Schat delivered a dominant season on the mound for the Bear Cubs, finishing with an 8–1 record, a 0.71 ERA, five saves, and 91 strikeouts over 63.2 innings. His exceptional performance helped lead SRJC to a historic 44–3 overall record and a 23–1 finish in Big 8 Conference play.
Schat's season earned him numerous accolades, including Big 8 Conference Pitcher of the Year, Northern California Pitcher of the Year, All-State, All-American and now the highest national honor for a junior college pitcher. His ability to both start and close games made him a key figure in SRJC's success throughout the 2025 season.
Schat will continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he has committed to joining the Wolf Pack baseball program for the 2025–26 season.
The ABCA/Rawlings National Pitcher of the Year award honors the most outstanding pitchers across all divisions of collegiate baseball, and Schat's selection places him among the elite arms in the nation.
