SRJC traveled to Reno, Nevada for the Lassen Invitational Tournament on 11/2. Behind another full team effort, they came away with the 2nd place team trophy right behind 1st place Mount S.A.C College, with 9 individual placers and the Most Outstanding Upper Weight Award. Notable performances included Derek Ruffin (125) 5th place with a 2-2 record, Karmine Berndt (141) 5th place with a 4-2 record, Ikaika Madayag (149) 5th place with a 4-2 record, Tito Rodarte (149) 4th place with a 3-2 record, Maka Edpao (133) 3rd place with a 3-1 record, Ali Hamzia (141) 3rd place with a 4-1 record, and Zac Morgan (174) with a 3-1 record. Joe Ellis (197) earned 1st place including a fall in the 1st place match (three falls total) and was voted Most Outstanding Upper Weight. Next up for the Bear Cubs is a conference match on 11/6 at College of the Redwoods. Great job Bear Cubs!
