SRJC Wrestling traveled to Lemoore CA, to compete at the toughest tournament in the state on 9/28 at the Lemoore College Invitational. The team was tested throughout the day leading to a 7th place finish out of 21 teams, only 10 points out of 4th place, behind 4 individual medalists. Medalists include Ali Hamzia (141) 5th place with a 4-1 record (two falls), Joe Ellis (285) 4th place with a 3-2 record (2 falls), Derek Ruffin (125) 3rd place with a 4-1 record (four falls), & Rayhan Jaleel (197) 1st place champion with a perfect 5-0 record (two falls). The team is now ranked 7th best in the state with all four Bear Cub medalists ranked in the state, individually, according to their placing. Rayhan Jaleel improved his record to 12-0 and is ranked #1 in the state. Next up for the Bear Cubs is a home dual against Lassen College on Wednesday 10/2 at 5:00pm.
