The Bear Cubs finished 4th overall at the Big 8 Conerence Championships which SRJC hosted April 18-20.
The men's team was lead by 200 Bacstroke Conference Champion, Andrew Morris who swam it in a time of 1:52.93. Morris also had two silver medal finishes in the 200 Free (1:43.97) and the 100 Back (52.26). Other top 10 finishes included: Greyson McCaw 4th in the 500 Free (4:51.19), 9th in the 200 Free (1:49.14), and 9th in the 200 Back (2:01.47); Eric Hansen 3rd in both 3M Diving (151.10pts) and 1M DIVING (154.35pts); Dylan Richardson 4th in both 3M Diving (146.80pts) and 1M Diviing (141.95), Jake Gordon 10th in both the 50 Free (22.28) and the 100 Fly (54.85), Amir Thiel-Gebheim 10th in the 400 IM (4:43.84)and Joe Nowack 7th in the 200 Fly (2:08.50).
The Cubs had some other stand out performances as well from Edwin Gomez in the 100 Fly, Enrique Jiminez in the 400 IM, and Sebastian King-Gile in the 200 and 100 Frees.
As a result of their strong performances, Morris, McCaw, Hansen, and Richardson will now advance to represent SRJC at the 2024 3C2A State Swimming and Diving Championships, at Orange Coast College, in Costa Mesa, May 2-4. Congratulations Cubs.
