The SRJC men have shown improvement in their performances at the Cuesta and Big 8 Invitationals at the mid-point in their season.
The SRJC men finished 6th overall out of 17 teams in the statewide Cuesta College Invitational on March 11-12. Sophomore, Aidan Cumming led the cubs overall performance with a double win in both the 100 and 200 Breaststroke events with times of 59.18 and 2:06.79 respectively, as well as a top 10 finish in the 200 IM 2:06.14. Other top 10 performances for the Cubs included:
- Andrew Liput: 50 Free-21.95 (3rd)
- Ben Gardner: 200 Back-2:08.40 (10th), 100 Back-57.53 (10th), and
- Max Owens: 1650 Free-18:02.02 (6th), 500 Free-5:13.94 (10th)
The SRJC men also had some breakthrough and personal best swims in other events including: Noah Erikson-100 Fly, Teophil Labus-400 IM, Juan Madrigal-500 Free, Dante Martinez-100 Fly, Justin Moura-200 Fly, Eduardo Soto Ceron-100 Free, and Fernando Soto Ceron-200 Breast.
Cumming lead the team again at the Big 8 Invite with a win in the 100 Breast and a 2nd place finish in the 200 Breast. Other top 8 finishes included Erikson-100 Fly (7th), Gardner-100 Back (2nd), Labus-200 Breast (8th), Liput-50 Free (6th), Madrigal-200 Fly (3rd), Martinez-100 Fly (3rd), and Moura-200 Fly (5th).
