On Tuesday, the Bear Cubs (10-5) traveled to face the Fresno City College Rams (13-3) in the first of a three-game series. Jordan Giacomini got the start on the mound for the Bear Cubs, who retired the side in his first inning of work. Santa Rosa took the early lead in the second inning with an RBI single by Josh Martin. The Bear Cubs extended their lead to 5-0 in the third via an RBI double by Alex Leopard, a two-run triple by Jake McCoy, and an RBI groundout by Martin. Santa Rosa broke the game open in the fourth with six runs from a Grand Slam by Leopard, an RBI double by Zane Bennett, and a bases-loaded HBP by Quinn Medin. After another shutdown inning from Giacomini, Josh Martin drove in his third run of the day on an RBI double. The Bear Cubs lead 12-0 after five innings. Luke Schat relieved Giacomini with two runners on in the sixth inning, the Rams pushed across two in the inning. The Bear Cubs responded with four runs from RBI singles by Mason Cox, Bennett, and Keenan Morris (two-run). The Rams scored two more runs in the final innings, but Santa Rosa took game one 16-4.
On Thursday, The Bear Cubs hosted game two of the three-game series versus FCC. Hekili Robello, Santa Rosa's ace was on the mound. After a scoreless first two innings, an RBI single by Alex Leopard gave the Bear Cubs a 1-0 lead. The Rams answered with two runs in the top of the fourth, taking a 2-1 lead. Robello rebounded nicely by throwing a three-up, three-down fifth inning. In the bottom of the fifth, Alex Leopard once again gave the Bear Cubs the lead, this time with a two-run home run to right field. After an uneventful sixth inning, Collin Medeiros relieved Robello in the seventh and struck out three batters. The Bear Cubs put up three runs in the bottom of the seventh via a RBI single by Aidan Lombardi and a two-run double by Mason Cox. After Seven, Santa Rosa lead 6-2. Jake McCoy relieved Medeiros in the eighth and retired all six batters he faced, securing a victory for the Bear Cubs. With the win, Santa Rosa clinched a series victory.
On Friday, the series finale, The Bear Cubs had opener, Tony Suarez on the mound. Desperate to salvage the series, the Rams had their bats going early. FCC pushed one run across in the first inning and two runs in the second, taking an early 3-0 lead. The Bear Cubs responded in the bottom of the second with an RBI single by Aidan Lombardi, trimming the deficit to two runs. Brice Cox, who relieved Suarez after an inning and a third, looked to keep the Ram offense at bay, but FCC scored three more runs in the third. Down 6-1, the Bear Cubs scored one run in the third, two runs in the fourth via a two-run home run by Lombardi, and two runs in the fifth from a two-RBI base hit by Zane Bennett. After five, the game was tied 6-6. The Rams retook the lead with two runs in the seventh. Santa Rosa had the winning run at the plate in the ninth inning but failed to capitalize, falling 8-6. Despite the loss, the Bear Cubs won the series two games to one.
