Congratulations to Rayhan Jaleel (197) and Frank Pomilia IV (197) who both medaled at the 3C2A Wrestling State Championship on December 8 & 9!
Rayhan Jaleel, from Vallejo High School, made the state finals but lost a nail biter by a score of 5-6. He finished 2nd place and earned All-American Honors. Jaleel advanced to the finals by winning his semi-finals match against Cuesta's Christian Davidson 9-7.
Frank Pomilia (Ukiah High School), wrestled a fantastic tournament ultimately finishing 5th place getting the win in his last match of the season. Pomilia beat Bakersfield's Uriel Vasquez 8-1 to secure 5th place. He wrapped up his sophomore season and will be looking to wrestle at the next level.
Jake Butler (141), David Sypnicki (149), and Bing Westbrock (174) all competed tough, but fell short of the podium.
