Roadrunners Split at Santa Rosa

Santa Rosa, Calif. - The Butte women's volleyball team split on the day, falling to Santa Rosa 3-0 (26-24, 25-15, 25-10) before sweeping Mendocino (28-26, 25-20, 25-6), on Saturday afternoon.

The freshmen trio of Rylee Keim, Koya Porter, and Zada Varner each tallied four kills against Santa Rosa with Keim adding 13 digs. Sophomore Kylie Walsh reached double-figures in the backcourt with 11 digs, adding an assist, while sophomore Riley Gainza tallied 12 digs of her own.

Gainza, Porter, and Walsh combined for 40 of the team's 47 kills against Mendocino. Walsh added 24 digs, four assists, and two aces to her efforts, while Gainza earned seven digs and an ace. Freshman Montana Robles racked up 13 digs and two aces as libero.

Butte (1-3) heads back out on the road to the Delta Classic next on Thursday, Sept. 7. The team will face American River first.
