Women's Water Polo Caps Off A Successful Weekend Against West Valley

Bear Cubs take the win in a battle against the West Valley Vikings in the final game of the Crossover Tournament at Foothill College. Santa Rosa took the early lead with 6 goals to 3 at halftime. After a grudge match, West Valley made a comeback to bring themselves within one goal of the Bear Cubs at the end of the third quarter. An impressive defensive effort by Lexi Baldwin held the Vikings to only 2 goals in the 4th quarter which allowed Santa Rosa to extend their lead by adding 3 goals for the final victory score of 10-8. Christine Lewis came up big in the cage with 16 saves, 2 steals, and an assist. Team captain and offensive leader Nicole Groat had a record breaking 8 goals in the win. Sophomores Baldwin and Amy Rider tallied 1 goal each.
