Field Events Shine at the 2nd Annual Wildcat Cup

San Luis Obispo, CA – In there second meet of the season, the Bear Cubs traveled five hours down the 101 to compete in the second annual Wildcat Cup hosted by Cuesta College. The Women's Tack and Field team dominated field events on their way to second place overall.

Audrey Stalcup started the day off winning the Pole Vault with a jump of  3.36m (14'0.25") a mark that currently leads Northern California. Finishing 2nd in the same event, Katelyn Benner had a shot at bettering her season best however her pole broke.  Not to be deterred, Benner returned 2 hours after breaking her pole to finish 1st in the High Jump with a NorCal qualifying mark of 1.50m(4'111").

Kayley Walker had a dominate day in the rings, finishing 1st in the Shot Put with a NorCal Leading mark of 11.93m(39'1.75") and 2nd in the Hammer with a mark of 39.41m(129'3.5").  Walker now has three State A qualifying marks in the Hammer, Shot Put and Discus.

On the Track, Bria Keelty had a 2nd place finish and a PR in the 800 with a time of 2:31.66.  Assata Polk also finished in 2nd in the 400m with a time of 60.08.  The Women's 4x400 relay team of Jardstrom, Polk, Keelty, and Gilmore finished in 2nd place with a time of 4:12.82.
