Women's Track & Field: Blackwell and King Lead The Charge in Qualifying for NorCal Finals

The Bear Cub women had a great day at the NorCal trials, posting numerous qualifying marks for the finals on Saturday. Sheena Blackwell (400 Hurdles) and Eva King (High jump) led the charge with 1st place finishes in their respective events. Also, with a show of great sportsmanship, Alyssa Stewart dropped out of the Triple Jump, so King would qualify for finals. 

Other qualifiers include: Ally Franzen-Milone, Shot Put, 3rd, 12.36m and Discus, 3rd, 37.12m; Mickie Seuga, Shot Put, 6th, 11.49m, Discus, 4th, 36.13m; Alyssa Stewart, Javelin, 7th, 32.03m; Sheena Blackwell, 100H 5th, 15.05; Destiny Williams, 400, 5th, 59.11; Angie Law, 800, 9th, 2:27.70; Destiny Williams, 200, 9th, 25.83; Williams, Blackwell, Stewart, Flores, 4x100m, 7th, 50.08. 

Events that went straight to finals are the 1500 (Angie Law) and the 3000m Steeplechase (Ana Drake-Tripp).
