Women's tennis team off to a hot start in the 2018 season

The Bear Cub Women's Tennis team has been off to an incredibly hot start, despite being shorthanded in all but one match this season. With four returning players out of five, the women have greatly improved their knowledge of the game and know what it takes to win a lot better than last year. Overall, they are 25-6 in our singles matches this year and are 10-3 in doubles play. Although many tough matches are still ahead of them, they can't ignore the fact that this is an impressive turnaround from having virtually the same roster last year and improving from a 2-6 record overall last season.

Coach Van Alstyn said, "having this many second year players is quite valuable as they have all gone through the system once before and know what to expect out of the competition this time around. Our lone freshman, Sandy Yang, is still undefeated in all of her matches going 5-0 mostly playing #3 singles and 5-0 playing #1 and #2 doubles as well."

The Cubs are look forward to the challenges ahead against Solano, American River, and Shasta.
