Title: Assistant Swim Coach & Team Manager

Lizzy Thiele begins her fifth season as a director of operations and assistant coach with the Bear Cubs for both the men’s and women’s teams.  Thiele is an associate faculty member in the Kinesiology, Athletics and Dance Department and runs SRJC's Student Athlete Academic Support program. 

She began her coaching career with Neptune Swimming in Santa Rosa, coaching pre-team and beginners. She is also currently in her 14th season as the head coach for Piner High School.

Thiele attended Maria Carrillo High School in Santa Rosa, where she participated in varsity swimming all 4 years. Her team was undefeated during her entire career.  After graduating she attended Arizona State University for one year and competed on the rowing team. She then came back and attended SRJC her sophomore year, and was on the back-to-back CCCAA State Championship Women's Swim & Dive teams in 2008 and 2009.

She received her B.A. in Liberal Studies as well as her multiple-subject teaching credential from Sonoma State University and completed her Masters in Kinesiology from Cal Baptist University. 

Thiele loves coaching and is a CrossFit athlete as well.
