Women's Swim & Dive Receive High National Rankings in 2015

The SRJC women posted some of the best times in the nation this year when ranked against all two-year colleges in the country.  Five Bear Cub swimmers had times that ranked in the top 10 nationally.  Sophomores Miranda Howell and Christine Lewis topped the list with rankings in the top 3 in their main events: Howell in the 100 Back (2nd) and 200 Back (3rd), and Lewis in the 100 Breast (3rd).  Other national top 10 times were posted by:

  • Megan Warren:  200 Free - 10th
  • Celine Sargis:  400 IM - 10th
  • Midori Dobson:  400 IM - 6th, 200 Breast 10th
  • Miranda Howell:  100 Fly - 6th
  • Christine Lewis:  500 Free - 8th, 200 Breast 7th

All five of the SRJC relays ranked in the nation's top 10 as well including two top 3 finishes by their medley relays:

  • 200 Free: Howell, Sargis, Warren, Lewis - 5th
  • 400 Free:  Howell, Sargis, Warren, Lewis - 4th
  • 800 Free:  Howell, Sargis, Warren, Lewis - 6th
  • 200 Medley:  Howell, Lewis, Senn, Warren - 3rd
  • 400 Medley:  Howell, Lewis, Sargis, Warren - 3rd

SRJC also had 11 individuals and five relays receive CCCAA All American rankings as well.  In order to be named an CCCAA All American, an individual or relay must rank in the top 16 times swam overall in the 2014-2015 season; divers must be ranked in the top 8. Again Howell and Lewis topped the CCCAA list both receiving No. 1 rankings in the 100 Back and 100 Breast respectively.  Diver Logan Williams was also ranked No. 1 on the 1-Meter board as well. The Bear Cubs had three freshmen and eight sophomores named to the 2015 CCCAA All American team including:
