Women's Swim & Dive 2015 Season Preview

The defending 2014 Big 8 Conference Champion Women's Team will be led by returning All Americans Miranda Howell, a two time state champion in the backstroke events, distance freestyler Michelle Spratt from Rancho Cotate, and record breaking breaststroker Christine Lewis and freestyler Megan Warren both from El Molino.  The Cubs also hope to return all three of their sophomore divers to the state finals again this season including Savy Moen from Montgomery, and Kristin Schmidt and Logan Williams from Analy. Incoming freshmen to watch for include, local, Celine Sargis from Santa Rosa High, Midori Dobson from Fairfield, and Ivylee Senn from Petaluma.

In her 15th year at the helm of this program, head coach, Jill McCormick said, "We have a core group of experienced sophomore swimmers as well as a strong freshmen class.  After our third place finish at the state finals last year, we have high hopes and are excited to get out there and start competing again this season."
In the final CCCAA state rankings, the Bear Cubs have finished in the top three 7 out of the last 14 seasons; in the top five, 13 out of the last 14 seasons, and they have finished in the top 10, every year McCormick has coached. During that time they have also captured four conference titles and have finished in the top three 10 times.
The Bear Cubs will open their competition season at home when they host the NorCal Relays Meet on Saturday February 7th at 11am.  They will also be hosting a tri-meet against Sierra and Cosumnes River Colleges on March 21st.
