Title: Assistant Coach

Catherine Barnekow is a local player who played for Santa Rosa United u11 to u17. She played at Santa Rosa Junior College in 2008 as a centerback and was selected for first team all-region and as an All-American under coaches Emiria Salzmann and Crystal Howard.

She transferred to University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2009 where she competed in Division I soccer for 3 years as a centerback and midfielder. She graduated from Greensboro with a degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sports Medicine.

After graduating, Barnekow was selected for the Philippine national soccer team and competed in tournaments for them from 2012-2013. In summer of 2014, Barnekow competed in a Swedish league for Gustafs IFc as a midfielder. Barnekow has also played locally with Sonoma County Sol and Sacramento Storm.

Barnekow has been a volunteer assistant coach for Santa Rosa Junior college since 2013. She currently coaches with Santa Rosa United for the U13 girls Lightning team.
