Bear Cubs pick up a huge win on the road and defeat Sierra College 2-0.

The Bear Cubs outshot the Wolverines 8 to 4 in Rocklin on Tuesday September 27th. Bear Cubs Amanda Galbraith, Maleni Avalos, and Kaleigh Alves led the charge in shooting. Sandra De Leon, Emma Mason, and Callye Lahmann had opportunities for the Wolverines.

The first goal would come just four minutes in for the Bear Cubs. Amanda Galbraith sent in a dime of a ball towards keeper Jamie Goodwin when Maleni Avalos jumped through the Wolverine defense, and headed the first goal in past Goodwin to put the Bear Cubs up 1-0.

The second goal for the Bear Cubs would come from another header opportunity, this time from Kaleigh Alves. Annika Cerini took a corner kick for the Bear Cubs. Gabbi Lemos came up with the ball and cracked a shot. Alves found the rebound from Lemos's shot and headed it into the back of Goodwin's net to put the Bear Cubs up 2-0 in the twenty-seventh minute.

The second half turned into a battle for the Bear Cubs to keep the shutout on the road, as most of the Wolverines shots came in the second half. A couple more chances were had for the Bear Cubs. However, the score would stay the same and the Bear Cubs would win 2-0 on the road. The Bear Cubs will face Modesto Junior College up next on Friday at 1pm at home.
