Crystal Howard's first season as the Santa Rosa Junior College Women' Soccer Team head coach was highlighted by fantastic accomplishments and an undefeated run unparalleled in northern California. The Bear Cubs finished their season with a record of 19-1-4 and the Big 8 Conference title, with their only loss of the season coming in the 3rd round of playoffs, ending their season one game away from a final four appearance.

The team was spearheaded by a defense unit that only allowed 12 goals in 24 matches and started the season allowing only 1 goal in the first 8 games of the season. Center back and captain Liz Duport lead the stout back line and was rewarded with Big 8 Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Duport, and her center back partner Nikki Elliot, were also awarded with Big 8 All-Conference selections.

Not to be outdone, the Bear Cubs offense was one of the most potent in the state this season. Led by freshman standout Amanda Galbraith and her 23 goals this season (5th in the state) SRJC's offense scored an amazing 82 goals in 24 games! While Galbraith led the way, the Bear Cubs had 4 players with 9 goals or more and all 4 were awarded with All Big 8 Conference selections. Megan Flynn (14 goals), Sophia Maso (13 goals) and Holle Depina (9 goals) joined Galbraith to forge a formidable attacking quartet.

Coach Howard and her 23 game unbeaten streak this season was rewarded with Big 8 Conference Co-Coach of the Year and has rekindled the Bear Cubs position as a top women's soccer program in the north bay and all of California.
