SRJC Wrestling finishes 2nd overall at Coast Conference Championship Tournament

SRJC finished in second place at the Coast Conference Wrestling Tournament hosted by Chabot College in Hayward. Winning conference titles for the Bear Cubs were Joel Anguiano 157lbs and Ian Black 165 lbs. 
 
Black was 3-0 with three pins including a 57 second pin in the finals over Rafael Vega of Chabot. Black was ranked 5th in the state at 174 lbs before making the drop to 165 lbs this week. He improved his record to 16-7 with 11 pins on the season.
 
Anguiano won his finals match 14-12 over Zack Franco from Skyline College, the 7th ranked wrestler in state at 157 lbs. He improved his team leading record to 18-3 on the season and was ranked 7th in state at 165 lbs prior to making the drop to 157 lbs this week.
 
Tyler Poalillo 133, Blake Boswell 149, Cameron Casey 174, and Octavio Ruelas 184 lbs each finished second place in their weight class.
 
Next action for the Bear Cubs will be on Saturday, December 2nd at Lassen College in Susanville for the CCCAA Northern California Regional Championships. The top six placers in each weight class advance to the CCCAA State Championships at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton on Friday and Saturday December 8-9.
