             Wednesday evening the Bear Cubs (4-4) played hosts to the Feather River College Golden Eagles (7-5) a day after the visitors had beaten the College of Marin (3-7) 80-65. The Golden Eagles scored the first five points of the game on a 3-pointer and a field goal. After missing five shots in a row, the Bear Cubs then made three in a row to take a 6-5 lead with 6:55 on the clock. The Golden Eagles made a field goal 35 seconds later to re-take the lead. Lani Lincoln hit a deep 3-pointer at the 4:27 mark. The Golden Eagles countered with two field goals before Trinity Hawkins sank a 10-foot jumper. The Golden Eagles quickly swished a 3-pointer and Lincoln dropped in an 8-footer to complete the scoring in the quarter with the Bear Cubs behind 13-14.

            Trinity Hawkins put back her own missed shot to start the scoring in the second quarter. The Golden Eagles made one of two free throws about a minute later, tying the score. With 6:36 on the clock the Bear Cubs scored their final field goal of the period when Hanna Morris caught the quick pass from Kassi Agapoff near the basket and put in the shot. She was fouled on the play but missed the free throw. The Golden Eagles added eight more points in the quarter, while the Bear Cubs could only make two out of four free throws and miss their final nine shots to go into halftime behind 19-23.

            The Bear Cubs started the third quarter with Lani Lincoln's 8-footer, Kassi Agapoff's 3-pointer, and Lincoln's 3-pointer at the 7:57 mark to take the lead 27-25. The Golden Eagles went on an 8-1 run before Amaya Macandog's two free throws and Kierra Johnson's 9-footer with 4:05 on the clock made the visitors' lead 33-32. The Golden Eagles completed a 3-point play, and then Lani Lincoln tossed in a 6-footer at the end of her drive. Following a Golden Eagles' 3-pointer, Kassi Agapoff drained her second long-ball of the game to close to 37-39 with 2:00 left. The Golden Eagles made two more field goals to stretch their lead to 43-37 by the end of the quarter.

            Kierra Johnson scored on a baseline inbounds play 37 seconds into the fourth quarter. About a minute later Trinity Hawkins stole a pass and drove the length of the court to score the layup. She did the same thing again on the Golden Eagles' next possession to tie the score at 43. The Golden Eagles then scored nine unanswered points for a 52-43 lead with 6:10 on the clock. Lani Lincoln swished two 3-pointers in the next 1:44 to get to 49-54 with 4:26 remaining. The Golden Eagles then looked unstoppable as they made every shot and free throw they attempted during the remainder of the contest. Kierra Johnson scored the Bear Cubs' last two points of the game on a field goal with 1:03 left to make the final score 68-51 in favor of the visitors.

            The Bear Cubs took a lot of shots, especially on penetrating drives, but most of them were off the mark. In the second quarter they only made 2 out of 16 shots (12.5%). During the fourth quarter, the Bear Cubs made just 6 out of 20 shots (30%). Unfortunately, their opponents made 11 out of 16 shots (69%), 6 of them by Precious Masters on difficult drives. Masters led her team with 17 points

            Lani Lincoln, who had to play the entire game, was the leading scorer with 20 points. Trinity Hawkins had her fourth double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds to go along with 5 steals. Kierra Johnson scored 8 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Kassi Agapoff contributed 6 points and 4 assists. Hanna Morris added 3 points and Amaya Macandog 2.
