2014-15

Vai played in all 30 games as a freshman. She gave the Bear Cubs a tough presence inside and created mismatches for other teams. She had her best scoring out put in a great win against San Francisco, hitting on 6-9 shots and going 4-6 from the free throw line for 16 points on the night. She averaged 4.5 points and 4.8 rebounds on the year.

Vai four-year varsity player for Maria Carrillo for four different coaches…9.8 points and 10.4 rebounds a game her senior year…named Team MVP…MVP of the Puma Invitational junior year

Vai gained a lot of game experience last year and we are excited at the improvement she has made. Vai will be asked to be one of the Bear Cubs main post players, she has the ability to be strong and physical inside but also step out and be a threat. 

Favorite sports memory: Freshmen year of high school I played with pneumonia one of my first games on varsity and made the front page of the Press Democrat the next morning.
