Softball: Bear Cubs get the win over Redwoods 7-0

Santa Rosa JC Bear Cubs  defeated College of the Redwoods Corsairs 7-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Abby Mendoza induced a fly out from Shawnau Johnson to finish off the game. The Bear Cubs secured the victory thanks to four runs in the fourth inning. SRJC  batters contributing to the big inning included Lily CastroAlex Lyons, and Anna Zoia-Buescher, all driving in runs in the frame. SRJC fired up the offense in the first inning on Haley Titione's single that score Zoia-Buescher. The Bear Cubs scored four runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught was led by CastroLyons, and Zoia-Buescher, all knocking in runs in the inning. One bright spot for College of the Redwoods Corsairs was a single by Grace Rosebrook in the fifth inning.Castro led the Bear Cubs to victory on the rubber. She allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven. Mendoza threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Lindsey Scott took the loss for College of the Redwoods Corsairs. She lasted five innings, allowing ten hits and seven runs while striking out one and walking one. SRJC launched two home runs on the day. Sullivan Henry went deep in the fifth inning following Janaea Masons blast. Santa Rosa JC BEARCUBS totaled ten hits. MasonZoia-Buescher, and Halle Uhl all managed multiple  two hits for the Bear Cubs
