The Bear Cubs took to Spring Lake Park for the 10th edition of the Pat Ryan Invitational. Historically a fast course, the Bear Cubs flew out of the gates.  Cristian Nazerak trailed the leader, Melvin Nyairo of Yuba, as they came through the first mile at a blistering 4:40.  The rest of the Santa Rosa top seven were not far behind, all passed the mile marker under 5:20.  This pace set up the rest of the race perfectly for the Bear Cubs as everyone on the team ran a season bests.  The real highlight of the meet, however, was that Pat Ryan (SRJC Track and Field and Cross Country Coach 1960 to the late 1990s) himself got to watch his beloved Bear Cubs come out on top at the home course he created.
