In their first official season since 2019, SRJC Men's Swimming is building momentum in the early part of the 2022 season.

The team opened the season with a two meet weekend starting with the CCSF/Ohlone Invitational in Fremont. The Bear Cubs finished first overall outscoring opponents San Francisco, Ohlone, West Valley, and Cabrillo. The team was led by event winners Ben Gardner, 100 Back, 1:02.68 and Max Owens, 500 Free, 5:15.32. Other strong performances included top 3 finishes by Juan Madrigal-200 Free, 100 Fly; Aidan Cumming-200 IM, 200 Breast, 100 Breast; and 2nd place finishes in the 200 Medley and 400 Free Relays. That same weekend, SRJC also hosted the NorCal Relays meet which was highlighted by our winning 400IM relay of Cumming, Noah Erikson, Gardner, and Dante Martinez.

At the Los Rios Invitational in late February, freshman Teophil Labus had a breakout swim in the 400 IM as did Justin Moura in the 200 Fly.  Last week SRJC was honored to host five decades of alumni athletes at the Alumni Meet where we honored former Head Coach Bobby Miyashiro and the 2012 Men's State Championship team on their 10 year anniversary.

Next up the Cubs travel to San Luis Obispo to travel in the statewide Cuesta College Invitational March 11-12.
