David Herrington enters his 20th season at the helm of SRJC's Men's Golf program. Since arriving at Santa Rosa, Herrington has led the Bear Cubs to five conference and one Northern California Regional Championship. In that time, he has produced 3 All State players, 47 All Conference players, and 7 Bay Valley / Big 8 Conference MVP's.

The 2015-2016 Bear Cubs finished 2nd the Big 8 Conference (North) Championship, which qualified the Bear Cubs to the Northern California Regional Championship, Rancho Murieta CC, Rancho Murieta, CA. The Bear Cubs finished 2nd at the Northern California Regional Championship which qualified them for the CCCAA State Championship. The Bear Cubs (774) finished 6th in the state at Desert Island CC, Rancho Mirage, CA.

Herrington is a faculty member in Kinesiology, Dance and Athletics Department and has taught and coached at SRJC since the spring of 1994. Prior to taking over the men's golf program in 1998, Herrington was the Head Coach for the Women's Softball program and also taught Electronic Technology at SRJC for eight years.

Herrington lettered three years in varsity high school golf (two years in Texas, one year Montgomery High School), two years SRJC (All Conference) and two years at Sonoma State University (All Conference).

Herrington graduated from Santa Rosa Junior College (A.A., A.S.), Sonoma State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology and a Master's Degree in Vocational Education, The Consortium of the California State University.

Herrington still enjoys playing golf, teaching beginning and intermediate golf classes, and coaching varsity golf. Herrington enjoys traveling and spends a lot of time with his family.
