SRJC Baseball Sweeps Modesto, 12-0 in Conference

Ryder Kuhns was a key offensive contributor throughout the series. Ryder was 6 for 12 with 2 doubles & 6 Rbi in the 3 game set.

The Bear Cubs improve to 24-2 overall and 12-0 in the Big 8 Conference play after sweeping Modesto.

Bryce Nagata's got the offense going in game one with two home runs and 3 for 5 day with 2 RBI's. This combined with a strong outing on the mound by Matt Estes who went 5.2 Inning to pick up the win. Jared Noonan picked up the save striking out three pirates in the final 1.1 Innings.

In game two at Sypher Field on the SRJC Campus, Alec Rennard pitched 6.2 scoreless innings to pick up his 8th win of the season. Jake Scheiner proved to be too much for the Pirates at the plate. Scheiner's double in the first plated Mitch West and Bryce Nagata got the Bear Cubs on the board early. The offense was just getting started, Scheiner came to the plate with the bases loaded in the second and drove a 3-2 pitch into deep left center field to clear the bases and pick up 3 more RBI's. Scheiner picked up an Rbi single in the 6th inning to give him 6 Rbi for the day. That's all the support Rennard would need and the Bear Cubs brought home the victory 10-1.

In the finale LHP Ezio Bruchler, pitched 5.2 Innings giving up 3 runs to improve to 5-0 on the year. Offensively, Right Fielder Jeff Bart had big late Rbi hits in the 6th & 8th inning. Bart's single in the sixth capped off a 3 run inning that put the bear cubs ahead for good. Bart went 2 for 4 w/2 RBI's on the day.
