Hawks Have Four Wins in Big 8 Conference Play

March 22nd vs. Diablo Valley 

- Game 1 -

Rebekah Pedersen started the Hawks off strong in their first game against the Vikings. She threw a complete game shutout with one hit and one walk. She struck out four on the day. The Hawks started off slow only scoring one run in the first three innings on Pedersen's RBI single. They started to heat up in the fourth inning scoring three runs with a three-run homer from Crystel Ruaro, her first of the season, to left field. Another home run in the sixth inning from Anabelle Benfiet to bring the score to 6-0. They finished the game with another RBI from Benfiet and a walk off from Hannah Steege's three RBI hit. The Hawks won game one 8-0 in six innings 

- Game 2 - 

The second game against the Vikings with saw Courtney Lozano on the mound and an another run rule victory for the Hawks. Lozano threw all five innings. She allowed no runs, two hits and one walk. The Hawks' offense started off strong in the first inning with a stolen base from Mary Baccay and a single from Steege to score Aliah Cisneros. The second inning is a big one with RBI from Benfiet, Courtney Lozano, Kayley Rocha and Steege bringing the score to 7-0. The Hawks were quiet until they scored again to walk it off on an error on a Ryley Krum bunt. The Hawks won 8-0 in five innings. Steege led the Hawks with two hits. 

March 23rd vs. Santa Rosa

- Game 1 - 

The Hawks had no trouble on offense today defeating the Bear Cubs 8-1. The Hawks got on the board in the first inning on a sacrifice bunt by Rocha which scored a run. The Hawks tallied three runs in the fifth inning -  Benfiet, Cisneros and Ashlee Kaiser each had RBIs in the frame. Pedersen led things off in the circle. She surrendered one run on eight hits over seven innings, striking out five and walked one. The Hawks racked up thirteen hits in the game. Baccay, Cisneros, Ruaro, and Kaiser all managed multiple hits for Cosumnes River. Baccay led the Hawks going 3-5.

- Game 2 -

In game two, Steege drove in seven and had three hits to led the Hawks to a 16-10 win. Steege drove in runs on an inside-the-park home run in the first, a single in the fourth, and a home run in the fifth. The Hawks hit five home runs on the day. Kaiser had a home run in the seventh inning. Ryley Krum had a home run in the third inning. Benfiet went deep in the third inning. Baccay, Benfiet, Cisneros, Kaiser and Steege each racked up multiple hits. Cisneros went 4-4 at the plate to lead the Hawks in hits.
