Falcons Drop Big-8 Conference Home Opener

Folsom, CA – The Falcons (4-9) faced the Santa Rosa Junior College (4-9) on Tuesday night in their Big-8 Conference, home opener.

The Falcons battle through a slow start offensively but were able to tighten up ball security issues, which had plagued them in non-conference play. Meanwhile, Santa Rosa benefited from five (5) 3-pointers in the first half and found themselves up 31-22 at halftime.

In the second half, the Falcons were able to make adjustments and saw success in scoring in transition as well as defending the 3-point line. The Falcons also had success of their own from behind the arc, knocking down four (4) 3-pointers. FLC made it a close game, but it wasn't enough as the Santa Rosa defeated the Falcons 56-52. "Overall, we just didn't shoot the ball very well and just couldn't find that scoring punch," said Head Coach, Bill Benford.

The Falcons, who have been battling illness, now face a short turnaround as they hit the road on Thursday night for a Big-8 Conference matchup against San Joaquin Delta College (4-8).
