Falcons, Bear Cubs play to thrilling 1-1 tie

A Tuesday afternoon rematch against the only team to defeat the Falcons this season came down to a thrilling final 8 minutes and resulted in a 1-1 tie with Santa Rosa.  The two teams waged another intense battle with neither able to score for nearly two full halves of play until the Bear Cubs found the net in the 82nd minute for a 1-0 lead.  The Falcons, however, just raised their game and responded in the nick of time with Armando Jiminez sending a cross to the box where sophomore forward Kameron Kascht lept high above everyone else and headed in the tying goal in the final minute of play.  It was a heroic effort that kept the Falcons (5-1-1) in first place in the Big 8 and set up a huge showdown at Cosumnes River on Friday.  "Somehow, our guys just seem to respond when we really need it," noted head coach Justin Johnson.

The Falcons will play at CRC (4-2-1) on Friday afternoon at 4:00 pm in a battle for first place in the Big 8; the Falcons prevailed 2-1 when the two teams met at FLC on October 15.
