Chabot opened the season with a historic nonconference game at Steve Friend Stadium against Santa Rosa on Friday, Jan. 28, when the Gladiators competed well in a 5-3 defeat.
Santa Rosa also held off visiting Chabot in an 8-7 win on Saturday, Jan. 29.
In the Saturday game, Chabot right fielder Quinn Ayres was 3 for 4 from the plate with an RBI. Justin Durflinger was 2 for 5 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored, and Fernando Sansone had two hits and two RBIs.
