The Bear Cub Athletic Trust (BCAT) is currently busy planning its Fourth Annual Polenta Feed fund-raising event, which will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Becker Center on the grounds of St. Eugene’s Cathedral in Santa Rosa. A delicious polenta meal (catered by Randy Apel and Crew), a raffle, auction, and music and dancing by the New Horizons Swing Band will round out this exciting evening. A no host happy hour begins at 5:30pm, with dinner, dancing, and auction beginning at 6:30pm.
We are presently seeking donations of items from individuals and businesses in our community to support our event auction/raffle. Wine, trial memberships, vacations, gift baskets or any other item or services will be greatly appreciated. With completion of the enclosed Gift in Kind Donation Form your tax-deductible donation will also be recognized in the event program.
Your attendance at the dinner, a monetary contribution, or the donation of an item or service for our raffle or auction to support the efforts of these deserving student-athletes will be greatly appreciated.
The main goal of the BCAT is to raise supportive funds on behalf of the Kinesiology, Athletics and Dance Department (formerly Physical Education, Dance and Athletics).
Another goal is to provide a lasting source of revenue by raising money for the SRJC Larry Bertolini Endowment Fund. Past monies raised have been used to purchase: video components, uniforms and athletic equipment for the various sports programs. The Trust also provides grants to these programs, helps in the purchase of championship rings and sponsors/hosts bi-annual sports banquets to recognize the college’s outstanding teams and student-athletes.
